Surfacing too quickly from the ocean causes diver to swell up to double his size
Diving into the depths of the ocean may sound fun but one also needs to be extremely careful before taking the plunge. The bends or decompression sickness affecting people while diving can cause joint pain and breathing problems, but in extreme conditions it can leave a person terribly deformed.A fisherman in Peru suffered a shocking case of the bends after surfacing too quickly from a dive as his arms and hest ballooned. The man who dived to collect creatures from the sea floor has gained around 30 kg as doctors try to treat the deformity.
