Intel's Core i9 and Skylake-X parts deliver up to 18 cores on the desktop

Intel has been accused of incrementalism in the CPU worldthe idea that the company is holding back in order to increase profits and stretch out upgrades. Whether that's true is sort of irrelevant, though if it is, I can only wonder what would have happened to AMD in the past decade. The harsh reality of microprocessor design is that it becomes increasingly more difficult to improve performance each succeeding generation. I discussed some of the reasons behind this in our Processors 101 overview of pipelining and superscalar architectures. Today, Intel takes the shrink-wrap off its latest and greatest collection of CPUs, the Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X line of enthusiast processors, all of which will run on the Basin Falls platform, which includes the X299 chipset and socket LGA2066.

After tripling in the past year, Nvidia has analysts throwing up their hands

Shares of Nvidia hit a fresh record high in early Tuesday trading, the 69th record high logged by the stock in a year's time. And with Nvidia stock now more than tripling in value over the past year, some analysts tasked with covering the stock are left scratching their heads. "I have been making a valuation call on this stock for a long time (and clearly have been wrong)," Ruben Roy, MKM Partners analyst and managing director, wrote Monday in an email to CNBC.

Editorial: Monster Hunter and Nintendo Switch Are a Match Made in Heaven

While we don't yet know whether Capcom and Nintendo are continuing the relationship of 'main' series entries being exclusive to the big N's hardware with the inevitable Monster Hunter 5 (other systems do have alternatives and spin-offs), fans of the series have something to be thrilled about with confirmation of Monster Hunter XX coming to the Nintendo Switch. On 3DS this has been a Japan-only release, an expansion / follow-on to Monster Hunter X (Cross) (a game released as Monster Hunter Generations in the West). Though it's currently unclear, I think it's a reasonable bet that this will make the transition to the West, albeit with a Generations-based name or similar branding. The Switch is hot right now, and Capcom will surely want to embrace the opportunity to target the system's growing global audience. Time will tell, in any case.

American Mortality In The US

It's also the bad news. Cutting the difference in mortality rates between African and white Americans by a bit more than half is good but its not good enough. Black Americans between the ages of 18 and 64 are between 40% and 45% more likely to die than their white counterparts.

Samsung Galaxy Mega

As I mentioned in my post on the Attack on the Cybermen DVD, the doctor Who audio lays from Big Finish Productions have really given Colin Baker a chance to shine. The quality of writing on the audios allows Baker to demonstrate precisely what he could carried out if he received material this good to work with on the actual television show in the mid-1980s.

The company, which was founded by engineers from rockstar companies such as SpaceX, Virgin and Boeing, is setting its sights on small satellite startups by offering prices as low as $1.5 million per launch, with opportunities to get satellites to orbit at least once per week. Intel Fixes A Security Flaw That Plagued Its Processors For Years

With Intel chips shipping in about 70% of all PCs, the AMT flaw is about as serious as they come... especially when you consider that the first Core processors that were vulnerable started shipping nine years ago. That's an awfully long time for a threat to go unpatched.
